Configure Add-on service

In AMDP, to build/deploy applications, services like Tekton, ArgoCD are used, and for monitoring deployed applications, services like Prometheus and Kibana are utilized. To use these services in applications, they first need to be registered in the Addon Service Management Menu. The services registered in the Addon Service Management Menu can be used in applications in two ways. The first is to register them in the project settings under Addon Service Management. Alternatively, they can be added in the ADDON SERVICE tab of the Profile Detail Page.

User can configure the Addon service from project or profile perspective.

Create an Addon​

From Project Details page​

Addon services registered in Project Settings cannot be changed or deleted in the profile. They can only be modified in the project settings.

  1. To register Addon services to a project, users have to access to Project management module on the Menu bar, select the project that needs to have Addon service.

Find Addon service tab, then select button ADD:

  1. Select Addon type from the dropdown list. Depending on the specific Addon type, associated addon will be proposed.

Below are Addon specific types can be selected:

Logging: Kibana

Monitoring: Grafana

Trace: Whatap, Zipkin, Whatap-del

Issue Tracker: Jira

CICD: Sonarqube, Tekton, Jenkins, ArgoCD

Istio: N/A

Notification: Slack, Email.

Per Addon type, the related parameters are required to set up:

To finish Addon service registration, click SAVE on the Addon service creation page. Once the Addon service is created, its information is displayed on Addon service list:

From Profile Details page​

Users have another way to register the Addon service by access to Profile detail screen.

  1. Search for a project amdp-tutorial, then select this project. The Profile list is displayed with all the profiles are shown:

Select a profile from the Profile list screen, find Addon service tab on profile detail screen.

  1. Click on ADD button to register an Addon service:

The Addon service registration is displayed. In this stage, take the same actions as when create Addon service from Project details page.

Delete an Addon​

To remove an Addon Service from the list, click on icon Recycle at the end:

Click on OK button to confirm the deletion then the add-on is removed from the Addon services list.

If user does not want to remove the Addon service, click on CANCEL button to not delete the Addon service and return to the Addon services list screen without any changes.
