Introduction

What is AMDP?

AMDP stands for Application Modernization Dev Platform, a “DevOps automation tool for developers in the enterprise”, which is designed to:

  • Simplify the management, automation, and deployment of enterprise applications.
  • Modernize legacy applications and integrate them with cloud-native architectures.
  • Allow organizations to handle their application lifecycle with automated DevOps workflows and cloud-native capabilities, reducing manual effort and the potential for human error.

Purpose and Goals

AMDP is built to simplify and accelerate cloud-native application development and operations. Its goals can be grouped into four key areas:

Simplify Complexity
  • Hides the complexities of Kubernetes, microservices, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.
  • Makes cloud-native development accessible to all developers, not just experts.
Accelerate DevOps
  • Enables fast setup of automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Supports rapid deployment across multi-cluster and hybrid environments.
Standardize and Centralize
  • Unifies development, deployment, and operational data in one place.
  • Promotes reusable templates and consistent processes across teams.
Boost Productivity and Stability
  • Connects monitoring tools easily for continuous insight and performance optimization.
  • Separates platform concerns from business logic, improving application stability.
