GPU Pool Requests

The GPU Pool Requests screen allows system administrators to view, filter, and manage all GPU pool requests across projects. This screen is essential for resource allocation, approval workflow, and efficient handling of GPU resources.

Access GPU Request List

From the System Admin Control Panel, click GPU in the main navigation. Then, in the left-side navigation, select GPU Pool Requests:

Search the Request

You can use the Search function to quickly find specific GPU pool requests. The search can be done based on the filters below:

  • Project: Dropdown to select a specific project or view requests from all projects.
  • Request Type: Filter by type of request (e.g., Normal, Custom).
  • Status: Filter by request status (e.g., Requested, Approved, Rejected).

After setting your desired filters, click the Search button to refresh the table below.

View the Request List

On this page, you can see a table lists all GPU pool requests matching your filters (if any). The information including:

  • Pool name: The name of the GPU pool from which the request created.
  • Project: The project name to which the request belongs
  • Cluster: The name of the cluster to which the request is associated (e.g., zcp-ai-cp-eks)
  • Type: Pool type (e.g., Normal, Custom)
    • Normal: Regular GPU Requests
    • Custom: Request to create a custom GPU pool
  • Status: Current status (e.g., Requested)
    • Requested: Approval pending request
    • Approved: Approved request
    • Rejected: Rejected request
  • GPU Specs: how the number of GPU instances requested (e.g., 1g.5gb x1)
  • Requester: Name of the user or administrator account that created the request
  • Requested date: Date and time the request was created
  • Action: Buttons to Approve or Reject the request
    • Approve: Proceed with GPU resource approval and allocation
    • Reject: Reject requests and update status

Approve Request

Before approving, verify:

  • Purpose and details of the request (Expand GPU Specs to see purpose of the request).
  • Current GPU resources availability (recommended for system stability).
  • Status of associated clusters and nodes to ensure that they are in a healthy state.

  1. Click the green Approve button in the Action column for the desired request.
  2. The system will process the approval and allocate the requested GPU pool to the project.

Reject Request

If a request is denied, ensure the reason for rejection is documented or informed to the user according to internal operating procedures.

  1. Click the red Reject button in the Action column.
  2. Enter a clear and specific reason for rejection when prompted.
  3. Click OK to confirm the rejection or Cancel to review the request again.
Manage Duplicate Requests:

When handling repeated requests within the same project, check the approval history to prevent duplicate approvals.
